Psychedelic art (also known as psychedelia) is art, graphics, or visual displays related to or inspired by psychedelic experiences and hallucinations known to follow the ingestion of psychedelic drugs such as LSD, psilocybin, and DMT. The word “psychedelic” (coined by British psychologist Humphry Osmond) means “mind manifesting”. By that definition, all artistic efforts to depict the inner world of the psyche may be considered “psychedelic”.

For me, it’s more about a person’s state of consciousness. Meditation, and prayer, can induce a higher state of consciousness. My work attempts to create an emotion in the viewer. I know I’m on the right track when I start smiling while I’m creating something and because my method is very organic, led by my environment I cover a wide range of content in my art but it all has the commonality of color, texture, and movement. Over the past few months, I’ve fine-tuned my technique to a point where I think I can teach someone else my digital painting process and have been approached by other artists who want me to hold a class, so for me instead of having an in person class I’m more interested in creating an online class, then possibly have some in person classes for advanced classes.

Sorry for getting off track, I’ve decided to create a Hunter S. Thompson collection, then possibly follow up with other famous historical figures of the past using my newer creation tools that I’m so excited about. The following two images are a sneak peek of the Hunter S. Thompson collection.

The collection will be available to purchase on JolieArtPrints.com.
